Pre Care Instructions
Scratch and burn... Your artist cannot tattoo an amazing work of art on injured skin. Be extra careful not to sustain scratches, cuts or burns on the area being tattooed (or any other area for that matter). Also, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Use sunblock if you cannot fully cover up. Natural skin tone will have the best ink-to-skin results. Any injuries to the skin must be fully healed prior to your appointment.
Criminally smooth... Apply lotion on the future tattoo site daily to provide the best skin condition possible. Think soft, supple and smooth.
Fresh and so clean... As a general rule, it’s important to have good personal hygiene! When you are clean and smell good, your artist can concentrate more on creating the best custom tattoo, as opposed to trying to block out any not-so-pleasant smells.
Enter the hair shaver’s clan... Your artist has spent many years in seclusion training in the ancient art of body hair shaving, so as tempted as you might be to remove your own site hair, please leave the shaving to your artist. Clipper trim as necessary, though, to allow for an easier and more comfortable shaving experience.
Sweatpants and BBQ stained white t-shirts are attractive too... Don't wear your favorite outfit to your tattoo appointment. Wear loose and comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting “yucked up”. Bring a change of clothes as back-up, but please leave your super hero costume at home.
It's drinking time somewhere... Nourish and hydrate yourself properly (water is a great choice!) prior to arriving at the studio and bring a nonalcoholic beverage with you to drink as needed. Contrary to popular belief, alcohol in your system does not make you bleed more while getting a tattoo. However, alcohol does impair your judgment and reasoning, and is not an ideal state of mind to be in when making tattoo decisions. Your artist will not tattoo anyone under any type of influence(s).
Home but not alone... For safety and sanitary reasons, please make sitter arrangements for your child(ren) for the day of your appointment.
You can drive 55... We are just as excited as you are about your tattoo, but please do not speed to get to the studio. Enjoy the ride, come earlier to dine (no alcohol please), hang around town and take a breath of fresh air in our beautiful village. Just make sure you arrive at the studio on time! Ideally, your artist will want you to arrive 10-15 minutes early. Remember that there are other time sensitive appointments, so please be courteous to your artist and our clients.
Disposable fellas... No, we do not reuse needles or ink cups or razors. We are a professional and sanitary custom tattoo studio that uses state-of-the-art equipment, safety measures and precautions. We (and you) expect no less from a doctor, surgeon or dentist; our tattoo studio is granted no exception to the rules for safety and sanitation.
No pain, no gain... Getting a tattoo can be an uncomfortable experience, but our artists will be as gentle and as accommodating as possible. You can take breaks to catch your breath if need be, or schedule more than one session to finish larger pieces. It is important to remain calm and still during all tattooing sessions.
Custom tattoos in a safe, clean and sanitary environment by professional artists are not cheap... Once again, custom tattoos in a safe, clean and sanitary environment by professional artists are not cheap! Cheap tattoos that are poorly designed and inked are an insult to us here at EVL Ink Tattoo and every other professional tattoo artist on the planet. We encounter (on a daily basis) clients with unprofessional tattoos that they wish to have covered up, and while we are happy to do so, it is also disappointing to see. However, that disappointment provides us with the motivation to work even harder to become respected industry leaders in the art of tattooing.

Post Care Instructions
Sanitary fads... Each time you enter and leave the magic tattoo room, you must sanitize your hands. There are convenient hand sanitizer stations located throughout the studio.
The many, the proud, the tattooed... You are now the proud owner of the most amazing looking open wound to your skin ever, so treat it as such! Absolutely no sun, hot tubs, swimming, no soaking in the bath or anything related to these types of activities until your skin is fully healed. Also, no fake and bake or fake on tans either.
Time heals all tattoos... The average healing time for a tattoo is at least 3 weeks but varies per person. Our artists suggest waiting at least a month to be on the safe side for finishing larger pieces or to make any touch-ups and add-ons.
So derm good... Tatu-Derm® is a breathable thin film bacterial barrier to protect new tattoos from dirt and abrasion. The technology is based on products used for burns and chronic wounds that have been widely used for more than 15 years. Tatu-Derm® is the only sterile, breathable bacterial barrier developed for use on new tattoos. Tatu-Derm® technology is patent pending in the U.S. The first application should be removed within 12 to 24 hours.

Ocean lotion devotion with soft motions... H2Ocean® Ocean Care™ cream is designed to nourish, revitalize, and protect your new tattoo. This moisturizing cream is enriched with USP grade ingredients and 82 essential trace elements and minerals that keep your tattoo healthy and moisturized with each application. Ocean Care Cream does not sit on the skin, nor does it smudge or stick to your clothes. It will keep your tattoo hydrated while reducing scabbing and helps to preserve the appearance and quality of your new tattoo. Squeeze a small amount of Ocean Care on your fingertips. Gently apply a thin layer of Ocean Care on your tattoo until completely absorbed into the skin 3 to 5 times a day.

You've got time for that... Wash your new tattoo gently three times per day with unscented antibacterial soap and pat dry gently as well. Apply H2Ocean lotion consistently to keep the area moist and from drying out. Only apply enough lotion to make it look like a layer of lip balm, not lip gloss. Make sure your hands are clean and sanitized before (and after) washing and applying lotion.
Gooey-itchy-hey-but don't worry-cause' it's automatic... During your tattoo’s healing process, you may notice globs of plasma forming on the skin and the occasional itch-me-please sensation. Don't panic - and don’t scratch! Both of these reactions are normal.
Look but don't touch... Keep disease transmission down to a minimum by not letting anyone or anything touch or come into contact with your tattoo until it is fully healed. Keep your tattoo clean and loosely covered for your safety and others.
Your family always said... Don't pick your nose or scabs … and they were right! Following all of the post care instructions will help to prevent scabbing, but it is still not a guarantee. Allow any areas that have formed scabs to heal up naturally with time and care. Just remember: Scabs lead to scars. Scars lead to messy ink. Messy ink leads to a bad looking tattoo.
Show and tell... We love and are as proud of your tattoo as you are! Along the social way of displaying your custom work of art, it will inspire others to do the same and we want to make it easy for them to make an appointment with us. Our artists and staff have designed an awesome referral program that not only provides a great discount on custom tattoos and apparel for your family and friends, but also rewards you for your amazing gift of gab! After your tattoo visit, your artist will review all of the juicy referral program details and rewards with you.
Thank you for being our friend! We, the staff and full-time professional tattoo artists who work extremely hard to make getting a tattoo an amazing, educational and service oriented experience, want to thank you for coming to EVL Ink for all your custom tattoo needs! Without you, none of this would have been possible!
